Visit Detroit and the Detroit Sports Commission produced the 2024 NFL Draft Insider’s Guide to Detroit, aka — Detroit Draft City — a special-edition newspaper celebrating the NFL Draft’s arrival in Detroit. The publication was developed to bring the city’s energy, culture and local flavor to fans visiting for the historic event. A sports-savvy writer brought the team’s content ideas to life, while I drew the custom illustrations to highlight Detroit favorites — from coney dogs to iconic city landmarks — giving the paper a distinctive, hometown feel. Printed in Honolulu Blue and black, the end product felt unique and collectible. The city of Detroit and the 700,000+ fans (ahem, record numbers) loved it.
